It used to be that you played the races and first prize for a series was a car... almost always a desirable racing car that would make winning other series easier which would reward you with better cars... Imagine that, win a racing series get a car... and you know what else, if you played and won the series again you could win either a different car, or a duplicate that you could sell to get money to buy a car you wanted... This shit where they want to charge me to buy the game and then charge me more to buy the cars I want in the game. FUK THAT, FUK POLYPHONY AND FUK GT. Way to completely ruin what I would argue WAS the best racing game in existence.

One of my favorite dumb things from GT games, was the 1.06 patch of GT7, completely breaking every license test that involved dirt tires... Basicly, the tests give you a car and you just have to deal with it, but instead of giving you the correct tires, the game now set you on normal tires! So you now had to win a rally event, but with standard tires, making them literally impossible to get gold on, as you can't manually change tires in license tests... And it's not like the game told you this, as you have no real reason to care about the tires outside of knowing what you are, so for a long time, people just assumed the tests were brutally difficult, only for people to figure out that they were pretty much just given a maze to solve that had no exit. So even to this day, i have an irrational hatred for blue Toyota Tundras...

the classic track dlc for Shift 2 appear before in Test Drive Ferrari Unlimited, also made by SMS in 2011, so it makes sense that having them recreated, offer them as DLC on their "other game "

I think the only people who care are those who prioritize graphics in their games. As someone who still plays the old classics of the racing game genre just for their quality of gameplay and general vibes, I can tell you there are MUCH bigger issues in the racing genre of games than the models of the cars. I get that the overall quality of the graphics can be an indicator of the overall care and effort put into a game, and this is generally where Gran Turismo has always shined it's brightest. Granted you also have things like Forza where they promise the game will be rebuilt from the ground up, then you get the game and it's literally the same shit with a new coat of paint slapped over the shit underneath. It makes me not trust developers when they promise a thing and then don't deliver, and it's an issue plaguing the industry now. As far as things like "standard" models or low quality models, I honestly don't care in the slightest. As long as the game is fun and the physics of the car(s) is fun/engaging, that's all I want in a racing game. It doesn't have to look pretty or shiny or flashy, because I can boot up Gran Turismo 1 or Gran Turismo 2 and still have a blast in 2024.

As GT7 ages, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Porsche 917K as a car that fits into the License PTSD theme considering that at least to me S-10 was hilariously difficult and fine tuned

Mont Tremblant is a circuit that was unknown to me until a video I watched a year or so ago from YT channel 'GP Laps'... This is an extremely fun track to drive on, and has easily landed itself in my top 5 tracks to tear around on in Assetto Corsa.

I mean I get GT7 has problems but I personally still really enjoy the game. Maybe it’s because of the scarcity of good sims on console but I’m glad to have it and to be able to play it

I loved GT3 & GT4. Sometime in around 2010 I bought a PS3 and I think i got GT6. GT6 had better graphics and a better handling model but I didn't like the single player mode, short races and its shift towards a live service. The short races and rolling starts suck. Since then I read reviews of the GT series updates and decide its not worth buying another Playstation to enjoy the game. These Changes are sad and i just wish they would re-release GT4 with updated graphics.

you should try more bike games they always have lots of obscure twisty tracks ive been playing ride 2 recently its got sugo and some of the other tracks in the video ride 3 has cadwell i love cadwell also its such a fun track or just play some moddable simulators like assetto or gpbikes and have a new track and a new car or bike to learn for a race every day

30:02 GT Sport/7 have PBR rendering, that's why. I think they ported the PS3 models but still had to update all the textures and new material shader for them and probably also used quick tesselation of the models in order to update them for GT Sport and GT7, so they look correct/the same as the new NEW car under the same new rendering engine. That's why they couldn't just release Sport with 500 cars.

I never liked the whole standard and premium cars thing, it completely broke my immersion. I really don't think the amount of cars was that necessary anyways, considering a lot of those cars are just duplicates or different model years with little difference.

The delays are what pushed me away from Gran Turismo for more than a decade and pushed me towards the Forza series. I finally returned to GT a couple years ago. And here we are with me thinking that maybe the latest Forza should have been delayed a bit since everything I hear about the latest iteration is bad.

If you need content for a part 2 to this video, just pick up a copy of D1GP for PS2, the official game of the drift series. It has a ton of smaller Japanese courses… not only does it have Sugo but even the Sugo kart course. Tracks like Nikko Circuit and Bihoku are great fun. It’s not the greatest game ever made but when I was really into JGTC and D1GP around 2004 it was so much fun.

Look, i take any delay if the final game isn't bugged as hell and straight out trash. Yes, im talking about a certain "rival" game called Forza who had it's best game with Forza 4. At least, Polyphony do want to make thwir games as good as possib, where as Turn 10 just sees money, money, money. Forza Motorsport is a pile of dog shit and slippery as hell

GT6 is still broken. Why pre-2006 LMP cars have 30% more horsepower than their real life counterparts? Why C60 Hybride has around 600hp listed but after you buy it it goes over 900hp stock, while newer 2006+ LMP cars remain the same? Also why when I use Audi R18 TDi, a freaking LMP1 car in Arcade Mode, I go race against tuner cars and drift cars? Like the Amuse Fairlady Z? Or GT4 cars and GT3 cars like BMW Z4???

They should’ve released GT5 as soon as they could, any of these delays could’ve been apart of an update. PD should stop numbering their games, next should simply be called Gran Turismo. They should rerelease GT each time there’s a new console, on a consoles day one. They can add new features, cars, tracks just like they are today

Gran Turismo masters making their fictional tracks more realistic, but SUPER fun!

Everyone just seems to mention ONE good fictional circuit from other games, but I will now list my favourite GT fictional tracks: Trial Mountain, Deep Forest Raceway, Mid Field Raceway, Lake Louise, Kart Space, Blue Moon Bay Speedway, Grand Valley Speedway, SS5, SS7, Seattle Circuit, and Tokyo Expressway.

It honestly makes GT7 feel like a better game when you ignore the bad. I love doing the events in the game, even when I already won them. Just love using different cars, livery editor, etc. and everything becomes very nice.

Zolder, while not obscure, was included in NFS Shift 2 as a tribute to the NFS GT3 BMW team taking its first victory there. Super cool of true!
